Effective Date: September 24, 2026
Ratemyrjteacher.com is designed to minimize the information associated with anonymous ratings and reviews.
This Policy describes how we handle legal and governmental requests for information.
Ordinary ratings and reviews are not intentionally associated in our application with:
- reviewer names;
- email addresses;
- student IDs;
- school accounts;
- student references;
- public user profiles; or
- other reviewer identities.
As a result, the information available concerning a particular review may be limited.
Ratemyrjteacher.com may respond to subpoenas, court orders, warrants, or other legally valid requests for information when we determine that disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.
We may seek legal advice before responding to a request.
Where legally appropriate, we may object to, narrow, or seek clarification concerning requests that are overly broad, unclear, or otherwise legally defective.
We do not guarantee that we will challenge every request.
We may preserve information when we reasonably believe preservation is appropriate in connection with:
- anticipated or pending litigation;
- a legal investigation;
- a security incident;
- fraud;
- abuse;
- or another legitimate legal purpose.
Preservation does not necessarily mean that information will ultimately be disclosed.
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe an emergency presents a threat of death or serious physical injury and disclosure is appropriate under applicable law.
Where legally permitted and reasonably appropriate, we may notify an affected person of a legal request.
We may not provide notice where:
- prohibited by law;
- prohibited by a court order;
- doing so could compromise an investigation;
- doing so could create a safety risk; or
- other circumstances make notice inappropriate.
Because anonymous reviews are not intentionally associated with reviewer identities, Ratemyrjteacher.com does not promise that it can identify a particular reviewer.
We will not create an identity that does not exist in our records.
Government agencies should direct legal requests to:
